Bar Revision

To import objects, just append them (like you would a material). If they don't show up, look in the other layers of your file.

I modeled this based on the club scene that Zack showed me and Katie's Motel. I would love to have a copy of that club scene, Zack, so if you could post a link to where you got it or post the image (if you can). Then I can try to make the bar look like it's part of that picture or something... Of course, the shapes and colors are always subject to change based on the background image that we decide to use if we don't end up using that one that you showed me. I still need to add bar stools and accessories (bottles, glasses, etc.); I was just having some trouble with my internet connection when I was working on this. Just wanted to show yall what I had in mind...

Storyboard

Okay here's the storyboard I drew up. It's not perfect as we still have some fine tuning and a few different ideas about what all's going to happen, but basically as I understand, start out showing a disco ball, then zoom out to the dance floor where cockroaches are dancing. Then there's a girl roach sitting at the bar. One cockroach comes and tries to hit on her, but then the girl's boyfriend comes over and I believe they're going to fight. Then at the end the camera zooms out to show that they're actually in a roach motel. Again subject to change but that's the jist. Depending on how long it takes, we might stop it in the middle for mid term then finish it for the final project.

Shiny Disco Ball

Here's a disco ball I made tonight...these new materials are awesome! The material I used for the ball is called Shiny, and its in another free material pack on the blender downloads page...I made my own material for the black rope. I dragged a huge cube around the ball, lights, and camera...and that's what the black background is. So we can put stuff inside a cube, but I guess you need a light on the walls to show any background stuff.

i found this great bar light on one of the model download sites. i thought it would look really good if we have a bar in our animation.
