Here's a disco ball I made tonight...these new materials are awesome! The material I used for the ball is called Shiny, and its in another free material pack on the blender downloads page...I made my own material for the black rope. I dragged a huge cube around the ball, lights, and camera...and that's what the black background is. So we can put stuff inside a cube, but I guess you need a light on the walls to show any background stuff.

that looks awesome!!!!!! have you tried to shine any spotlights on it yet? it looks really great, and I'm sure we can figure out how to make it sparkle. can you post your roach, too? I still haven't seen it
